Anne Murphy

Biography

Anne Murphy was born to parents William Murphy & Eliza Keating on February 1st 1870 in Newtown or Newtown Cross village in County Laois, Ireland. It is within the townlands of Clonbrock and Doonane.

Anne moved to Scotland with Edward McDarby, they were married on September 4th 1900 in St. Mary's church in the parish of New Monkland, county of Lanark. Their address is Airdrie.

In the 1901 census they are at the address in Airdrie, also on form are Annie's Brother William, sister Eliza and Annie's daughter Eliza. Edward & Annie's daughter Kate is also listed. Edward's occupation is listed as coal miner.

In the 1911 census they are Residents of a house 48 in Doonane, Co. Laois with Annie and five of their children. Eliza is mistakenly listed as sister in law.

They lived in Doonane until Anne's death on November 23rd 1944.
