Mary McAteer

Biography

Mary was born to parents Francis McAteer and Rose McKeone in the village of Carlingford, Carlingford, Co. Louth. She was baptised on May 30th 1839.

Mary married Edward Callaghan on August 24th 1866 (Church Register), (BDM Register), in the diocese of Clonallan, Warrenpoint, Co Down.

Edward and Mary had six children that I can identify (Listed on the left). Edward's occupation is listed as 'Sailor' on all of the birth certs. They are living in Warrenpoint for the first five births, but have moved to Dundalk for John’s birth in 1883.

In the 1901 census Edward and Mary are living at house 4 in Nicholas Street (Dundalk Urban No. 2, Louth) with son John & daughter Mary Ellen. His occupation is now listed as 'Fish Monger'

In the 1911 census Edward's is listed as a widower, I've not yet located Mary's Death Cert. Edward is living at house 15 in New Row (Dundalk Town, part of, Louth) with his grandchildren

Edward died aged 75 on September 21st 1912
